Bar Rye opened in 2018 in Badstuestræde 4 in the center of Copenhagen, but unfortunately after 3 1/2 years on top of a long battle with corona restrictions and forced closures as a result of corona, we were forced to close down for the first part of the adventure!
We hope to be able to open a new Bar Rye at a new location in Copenhagen later on, hopefully during 2024.
Bar Rye is a small hyggelig / Cozy Smørrebrøds Bar that serves a modern version of the well-kown old Danish smørrebrøds classics combined with a special selection of quality drinks such as beer from Mikkeller and snaps from Snaps Bornholm as well as a mix of drinks and cocktails.
We only use the best ingredients and we value that the food can be enjoyed in calm surroundings which is why we have a minimum age of 12 in the restaurant
Great smørrebrød MUST be enjoyed in pleasant surroundings with a lot af real danish "hygge"
